CVS/caremark Contacting Participants About 2016 Specialty Drug Change

CVS/caremark will soon contact affected participants to inform them that specialty drugs will be moved from the NRECA medical plan benefit to the prescription drug benefit beginning January 1, 2016.

Starting September 8, CVS/caremark, NRECA’s pharmacy benefit manager, will send a letter and make follow-up calls to all participants who are currently using specialty drugs. Approximately 200 participants covered by the NRECA medical plan are affected and will receive notification from CVS/caremark.

CVS/caremark will work with NRECA to identify new claimants of specialty drugs through the remainder of 2015. All new claimants during that period will also receive a letter and follow-up call.

The letters and calls are designed to clarify the change and answer any questions participants may have.

CVS/caremark will also send a letter and make follow-up calls to medical providers of the affected participants.
