Reminder: New Health ID Cards Being Mailed to All Participants by the End of December

As announced previously, UMR will mail new, redesigned health ID cards in late December to participants in all NRECA medical, dental and vision plans for the 2022 plan year. The health ID cards will have augmented member service contact info and additional cost-sharing information as required by the 2021 Consolidated Appropriations Act.

Participants should review their new health ID cards to ensure they are correct. If corrections are needed, participants can contact NRECA at 866.673.2299, Monday through Friday, 7 am – 7 pm, Central time.

Beginning January 1, 2022, participants should:

  • Dispose of their old health ID cards
  • Use their new health ID cards
  • Show their health ID card whenever they or a covered dependent visit a health care provider—this is always a best practice

Note: If your cooperative made late renewal or enrollment changes—after November 16 for renewal changes and after November 29 for enrollment changes—your participants may receive their new health ID cards after January 1, 2022. If they need a health ID card before their new ones arrive in the mail, they can download a temporary health ID card on the Employee Benefits website by logging in to cooperative.com and going to My Benefits > My Insurance > Download a Temporary Health ID Card.
