See the Stats from the Invitational Challenge
Congratulations to all who completed the Rewards for Life® program’s 2021 Invitational Team Step Challenge. The Well-being team is proud of everyone who went head-to-head in competition during the five-week challenge. The Invitational, a Rewards for Life program challenge, was also available to medical plan participants at cooperatives that enrolled in MyHealth Challenges, the challenge-only version of the Rewards for Life program.
From both programs, 1,041 participants answered the call to form teams of five for weekly match-ups. Participants in the Rewards for Life program also had to walk 10,000 steps on 15 days to earn points in the program. There were 577 Rewards for Life program participants who achieved that goal—and received points in the Rewards for Life program for their efforts.
In total, Invitational Team Step Challenge participants walked over 300,132,738 steps, which is over 150,066 miles. That is far enough to walk around the Earth more than six times! Additionally, the highest stepper walked close to a million steps, taking 904,243 steps during the challenge! Very impressive!
Congratulations, too, to the spirited teams that won their match-up every single week:
- Amethyst Roos
- Cerulean Lightningbolts

From those, we selected one team at random to receive the challenge reward. These members will receive a $50 Amazon gift card, too!

- Scott Derting selected Chambers Creek Baptist Church
- Joe Marek selected Hill County Paw Pals

NRECA’s Well-being team congratulates the winners and every participant for putting in the effort to improve their health and well-being by getting up and walking, jogging or running.
Our next challenge opportunity is Stress Less, which asks participants to record at least five minutes of relaxation for at least 15 days of the challenge. Registration opens on September 29, so, if your co-op would like to participate through the Rewards for Life program or MyHealth Challenges, contact the Well-being team at wellbeingprogram@nreca.coop by Monday, September 13.
