Annual Base Salary Data Due by October 12; Remember to Validate Your Job Classifications
The annual collection period for base salary data closes October 12, 2018. Cooperatives with salary-based benefits should submit salary data and job classification information at the Employee Benefits website’s November 15 Base Salaries event.
Timely submission is important
Remember, base salary data is used in the billing for your 2019 NRECA salary-based group insurance and Retirement Security (RS) Plan benefits. Timely submission of your co-op’s data ensures accurate annual enrollment elections, 2019 billing and RS Plan estimates (projections) and payments.
NRECA sent an email to primary benefits administrators on August 17 with detailed information on submitting salary information.
Validate your job classifications
Before you submit your job classification information, remember to verify that your employees’ job classifications in your co-op’s HR system and records align with NRECA’s job classifications. This will ensure your employees receive relevant targeted communications from NRECA and accurate information is provided for the National Compensation System.
To view a list of your co-op’s current job positions, follow these steps: cooperative.com > select the drop-down menu next to your name > My Co-op: Data Tools > Update Individual Data. You can download an employee file that contains job classifications of your employees that NRECA has on record. This is the file that you will need to compare to your co-op’s HR job classification records. To obtain a listing of all job positions (and their descriptions), download the NRECA Job Classification List. Access the employee file and classification list through My Co-op: Data Tools > Update Individual Data: Job Classification List and Employee File link.
Also please take this opportunity to provide a specific job position for employees who currently have an unknown position (i.e., 00-0000) or those who have incomplete job positions (e.g., 21-0000, 21-0100, etc.).
If you have questions, or if you will be unable to meet the October 12 deadline, contact the Member Contact Center at 866.673.2299 or contactcenter@nreca.coop.
