2014 Group Program SPDs and SMMs Available

Complete and return the distribution acknowledgment form to NRECA after distributing your documents.

Your 2014 NRECA Group Benefits Program summary plan description (SPD) and summary of material modifications (SMM) documents were available on the Employee Benefits website in December 2013. You should have received a Message Center alert directing you to the documents. Go to Document Library > Summary Plan Descriptions > Group Plan SPDs SMMs. Review the documents for accuracy and then distribute them to participants by March 1, 2014.

2014 SPD and SMM changes
All NRECA medical plans received new SPDs for 2014. Other plans in the NRECA Group Benefits Program received SMMs for 2014. If your co-op changed its plan elections or enrolled in a new benefit plan during annual renewal you received a full SPD instead of an SMM.

We’ve prepared a table that summarizes the changes by plan to help you understand which parts of your documents are new or different. It’s online at Document Library > Documents for Co-ops > Insurance Plans > All Plans > 2014 SPD Updates.

Distribution acknowledgment is required
As soon as you give out the SPDs to your employees, fill out the online distribution and acknowledgment form for each plan. The form is on the Employee Benefits website. Go to Administration > My Co-op’s Insurance > Group Plan SPD and SMM Distribution. Select your subgroup, if applicable. A link to this page also was in the Message Center alert you received in December.
