Dental and Vision Plans for Post-65 Retirees Offered through NRECA Retiree Insurance Solutions Exchange

Eligible participants also will be able to enroll in individual medical and Medicare Part D plans through the exchange.

After December 31, 2014, NRECA dental and vision coverage will no longer be offered to post-65 retirees. As previously announced, NRECA post-65 retiree medical and Medicare Part D plans also will no longer be offered. Affected participants will be able to elect replacement individual coverage for these benefits through the NRECA Retiree Insurance Solutions exchange effective January 1, 2015. This change will affect:

  • Retirees and spouses over age 65 who are enrolled in NRECA dental, vision, retiree medical or Medicare Part D plans
  • Surviving spouses over age 65
  • Individuals approved by Medicare as disabled, in some cases

This change to retiree health benefits should reduce costs for cooperatives, retirees and the NRECA Group Benefits Program. It also should provide retirees access to plans that meet their individual needs better.
