Have You Distributed Your 2016 Group SPDs?

March 1 is the deadline to distribute summary plan description (SPD) documents for your NRECA group benefit plans. As you finish this process for 2016, remember the following tips:

  • All NRECA Group Program plans received full SPDs for 2016.
  • Take a few minutes to review the electronic distribution rules to see which employees can receive their SPDs electronically. Paper is always an acceptable distribution method.
  • Once you’ve given out the SPDs, acknowledge distribution for each one using the online distribution and acknowledgement form. Select your subgroup, if applicable. A link to the online distribution page also appears in the original Message Center alert you received in December 2015.
  • A table listing the 2016 SPD changes by plan is available on the Employee Benefits website.
  • The SPDs and SMMs Checklist is also available on the Employee Benefits website. The checklist is a helpful guide to reviewing, distributing, and acknowledging distribution of your 2016 SPDs.
